Lets randomly pick New Zealand -- 3 million people - nice climate - peaceful modern - reasonable economy etc
How many pieces of legislation per year do 3 million need -- and how many per year does their House of Commons produce ?
Widen the field
Canada 34 million
US 300 million
Etc etc
How many pieces of legislation do they actually require as opposed to the years grinding out of laws and act ?
From 1066 Ad until today -- How many laws ?
1867 -- 2011 -- or just last year in 2010 ?|||They produce way too many, below is just few of the ones in the USA

I believe they have passed more laws in the last 30 years, than they passed in the previous 200 years and we could live without 90% of them************************************鈥?/div>
|||As many as they can get through. The more legislation/laws, the more power they take.|||Your question presupposes that all nations are essentially the same in all respects but for population, and they are not. How many bills are introduced and enacted would depend on not only their legislative system but on a great many other variables that you are not taking into consideration. 鈭犅?
