What are some of the advantages of a bill passing legislation quickly? What are some disadvantages?|||Advantages:


The quicker it passes, the quicker it can be implemented to improve a situation or to enforce a law designed to save lives.


If a bill passes quickly, then Congress is freed up to consider other bills that may be more, or at least as, urgent.


If a bill passes quickly, it could be evidence that there is widespread agreement with the legislation by the population.





Disadvantages:


If a bill passes quickly, Congress members may not have had time to thoroughly read it and weed out harmful legislation or things that were snuck into the bill .


The public may not be aware of legislation being passed that infringes upon their freedoms or rights.


The public may not have time to protest or petition against a bill that the majority of people do not want passed.
