What if people were more directly impacted by the cost of legislation?

I think people would care more about what was being passed if they were more directly impacted by the cost of the legislation. Right now, expensive legislation is passed and people don't really feel the impact of the cost. But our children and grandchildren will.

What if people had to pay their per taxpayer portion of the national debt by the end of this year? Right now, that's over $100,000 and growing.

Things like the war in Iraq and Health Care Reform wouldn't have even seen the light of day.|||I would take it one step further and have every tax payer write a check each and every week for their income taxes to the IRS. That would cause a revolution over night and stop this mad spending.|||.....that's right.....between 1980/2007 there were 7 presidential elections.... every republikan president added to the federal deficit because they would not balance budgets..... every democrat president balanced their budget, and left office with surpluses of revenue in the treasury.....a baby born today is born owing $100,000.00 payable to the IRS, thanks to conservative republikans and their federal deficits.....who votes for these overspending conservatives ?.....and why.....may God bless you and pr0tect us from c0nservatives, their deficit spending, fascism, and the c0nservative c0ntr0lled c0rp0rate state.....
