What type of legislation or new bill should be introduced before Congress?|||I feel that anyone who wants to be taken seriously in Congress must address the appearance of malfeasance. In other words, clean their own house before butting into anyone else's. the Slaughter Rule should be abolished. Congressmen who owe taxes should pay up. They need to do away with back room deals, pork, arm-twisting, and any other underhanded sleazy, political nonsense that both parties have been playing with for generations. A government of, by, and for the people should reflect the morals of the people. Most of us do not behave like this and we do not want to be represented by those who do!|||Jobs bills.
Rebuild the infrastructure. $2.2 trillion is needed, and it would create millions of jobs in both the short and long terms.
Fast rail network. We've fallen behind Europe, Japan, and China. It'll save oil, create less pollution, and create jobs. As a bonus, it will make the highways less crowded and safer.
Green energy. Again, millions of jobs, less oil, less pollution, less global warming, more national security.|||More consideration should be given to Landowners. After all, owning property is one of our most valued rights guaranteed under the constitution. And now with all the bad economy and loss of jobs, many people are going to be at risk of loosing their homes, either through finance companies or property tax issues. Then, what are they going to do? All live under the bridge? NO WAY.
So, I would propose, that if the individual makes payments, even as much as they possibly could, their homes cannot be forclosed on. Same goes with property taxes. If they have paid the majority of property taxes, but got hung up on a couple years, dont gouge them with extra fees and things that make the original amount triple, but help them and allow them to catch up without selling their homes. Of course, income and situation verification is mandatory as this is not a law for someone to keep their house and not pay for it or their required taxes. But for the people that have been good landowners for awhile, but ran into financial problems and just need a little consideration to get through the hard time they are faced with.
