How do you find legislation that replaced a repealed act?

I need to use a section from the Hire-Purchase Act 1959 (Qld), but it was repealed so I can't cite it. I'm sure it must have been added into some other act after it was repealed in 2009, but there are no recent cases that discuss it. Can I use authority of an old case if they were following legislation that is now repealed? What do i do!?|||That would depend on what you are using it for.Is it for a court case or is it for some school project.
