Why are the government squeezing out our farmers with legislation, and then buying food abroad?
I was listening to the news today. Is it true the government and ourselves are setting standards and bringing in legislation to stop farmers in the UK farming in certain ways, but then we and the government won't buy UK grown food because it is too expensive in part because of this legislation? This seems ridiculous double standards.|||UK farmers get enough EU handouts. Unlike the miners, steelworkers and dockers in the 1980's.|||Dare I suggest that this is the way they intend to solve the housing problem? If we buy food abroad we don`t need farms, then the land becomes derelict and they use it to build houses! I have many friends who are farmers, and I can tell you the situation is far worse than is reported in the newspapers.|||Poor farmers! (I've yet to meet one...)|||SOCIALISM|||nothing is made in america anymore. even hersheys chocolate moved to china. as for the usa stopping uk farmers, the usa is always in everyones business but their own. thats why this idiotic war is still going on and many countries hate america, because the govt is always where they shouldnt be.|||I think that Gordon Brown and his cronies have a lot to answer for!!But I cannot agree with you here!!Don't you think that farmers are cushioned by subsidies from Brussells!!??Farmers get the biggest 'rake off' from the EU
